02.00 dinihari konfirmasi ke Salah satu operator telco, menanyakan jadi atau ngga mau BER test, soalnya udah 2 minggu koneksi ke ganggu banyak "packet corrupt" / "error" di link E1 nya.

03.40 so quiet , just an alert sound from net monitoring tools …ding … dong… it says the First E1 link status is down, it’s so cold in the NOC.

Sedikit mengenai “Cara setting DHCP server” di router Mikrotik OS

MikroTik RouterOS v2.7 (c) 1999-2003 http://www.mikrotik.com/

1. Check dulu alokasi IP di PC router yang sudah terkonfigurasi / terinstall dengan baik,
proses penambahan servis DHPC server berikut dilakukan sesudah proses setting awal
telah dipenuhi.

check ip, command nya : /ip address print

[admin@servo-dhcp] > /ip address print
Flags: X - disabled, I - invalid, D - dynamic
# ADDRESS NETWORK BROADCAST INTERFACE
0 10.35.16.29/24 10.35.16.0 10.35.16.255 uplink
1 192.168.1.1/24 192.168.1.0 192.168.1.255 lan

note : nama interface diatas telah mengalami perubahan, ether1 -> uplink, dan ether2 -> lan.

2. Tambahkan IP pool, yang nantinya digunakan sebagai range alokasi ip yang dapat diberikan
oleh dhcp server.

tambahkan ip pool command nya : /ip pool add name=[nama pool] ranges=[range ip]

[admin@servo-dhcp] > /ip pool add name=LAN ranges=192.168.1.100-192.168.1.105

check apakah konfigurasi ip pool telah sesuai / tidak :

command nya : /ip pool print

[admin@servo-dhcp] > /ip pool print
# NAME RANGES
0 LAN 192.168.1.100-192.168.1.105

3. Tambahkan setting dhcp server.

command nya : /ip dhcp-server add name=[namaserver] gateway=[ip-interface-gateway] netmask=[netmask] dns-server=[ip-dns]
/address-pool=[nama-ip-pool] lease-time=[waktu-lease]

untuk check hasil setting : /ip dhcp-server print

[admin@servo-dhcp] > /ip dhcp-server print
Flags: X - disabled, I - invalid
0 name=”dhcplokal” interface=lan lease-time=3d address-pool=LAN netmask=24 gateway=192.168.1.1 src-address=0.0.0.0

bila sudah selesai untuk proses setting router di atas

Coba apakah konfigurasi telah berjalan pada router.
Pada interface “lan” hubungkan langsung pc dengan kabel cross / bisa juga tersambung ke HUB/SWITCH kemudian terhubung lagi
ke PC lokal, setting ip untuk PC tersebut dengan “Obtain an IP Address automatically” ( asumsi pc client Windows XP ).
